Getting Ready – Month Before Your Miami Move

Just like anything else, the timeline for your moving process in the Miami area can go much faster than you expect. You might think that you have plenty of time to get ready and have all of your things prepared – and then suddenly the day is upon you and there is way too much to do. You certainly wouldn’t be the first person that arrived at their moving day only to find they weren’t nearly as ready as they thought they were. By getting ahead of the game, you can take much of the stress out of the process and make your move far more enjoyable.

Book Your Miami Moving Company
If you haven’t already done so, make sure you have your Miami moving company booked and confirmed for your moving day so there are no surprises. Depending on the time of year, moving companies can book up well in advance, so make sure that you call and make your reservation as soon as you know the date and details of your move. Also, be sure to understand what services the moving company is going to provide for the price they quoted, and what you will have to do yourself.

Pack Up What You Don’t Need
By taking a quick look around your home, you will likely find that there are plenty of items you can do without for the last couple weeks before you move. Take advantage of the time you have now and get these things packed up early. The only things you should have for last minute packing are things that you can’t live without on a daily basis – some kitchen items, bedding, clothes, etc. Unless you are sure you will be using it in the next couple weeks, get it packed now so there is less work to be done later.

Make Work Arrangements
There is a good chance that your moving plans will interfere with work in some way, so make sure you have scheduled your calendar at work appropriately. Most of the time, a move in Miami will take a little longer than you expected to complete, so it is a good idea to take one extra day off from the job if you can, just to allow for some cushion. Hopefully, you won’t need it and everything will get done quickly and easily. As long as you are well prepared ahead of the move, and take advantage of this last month to get things in order, your Miami move should be all set to go right on schedule.
